Corporate Social Responsibility: in Steritech’s genes

From day one, Steritech has been committed to a sustainable future. Our solutions go far beyond simple sterilization and pasteurization: they offer advanced functionalities while reducing waste and energy consumption.

A few examples of our committed solutions

Our Goût’stave Our Goût’stave: this autoclave has been specially thought out and designed for small structures and local producers, and is perfectly suited to those wishing to work towards reducing food waste.

We supported l’Arbocal in its efforts to recycle fruit and vegetables forgotten in orchards or unsold by market gardeners, and turn them into tasty recipes that can be eaten in any season! In its 1st year, l’Arbocal recovered nearly 9 tonnes of fruit and vegetables to prepare 29,000 jars!

WatterloW our water and energy recovery and recycling system, puts these resources back into the cycle for more sustainable use.

For one of our customers with 18 Steritech autoclaves, the WatterloW solution enabled them to recover 227 tons of steam/year and 3,800 m³ of water/year, resulting in savings of €30 k/year on their sterilization process.

The Retrofit of equipment not only extends its service life, but also improves its performance.

For one of our customers, 23 autoclaves were modernized at two production sites in just two years!

At Steritech, we believe that every action counts, whatever its size. That’s why we are as committed to our local community as we are to the world. Our commitment to the environment, society and the local economy translates into concrete, meaningful action:

Saving the Earth’s resources

Everyday eco-responsible gestures are important, but we know that to make a real difference, we need to go further. That’s why we’re taking bold steps to rethink the way we work and reduce our ecological footprint.

2023 marked a turning point for Steritech. Together with our team, we held “Climate Fresco” workshops that triggered deep reflection among our employees on our decarbonization strategy. Thanks to the support of the Association Initiatives durables, the Agence de la transition écologique and the Banque publique d’investissement (BPI ), we carried out our Bilan Carbonne (carbon footprint) and selected three areas of work for which concrete actions have already been implemented.

1. Design machines that are as efficient as ever, but consume less water and less energy

Our autoclaves are designed to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%, or even more with the WatterloW system.

2. Reduce energy consumption within the company

In 2024, 116 photovoltaic panels were installed. Our goal? To become totally self-sufficient in energy and, why not, redistribute the surplus to our neighbors!
The first results, announced 2024, show that in 4 months we produced 27MWH, avoiding 1539 kg of CO₂. This represents the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 6 households.

We plan to go even further with the installation of a 40,000-litre water recovery tank for our laboratory tests, as well as the installation of a dual-flow CMV system to purify the air and thus improve the working conditions of our teams, while optimising our energy consumption.

3. Reduce our CO2 emissions linked to business travel and commuting.

The introduction of hybrid and electric vehicles in our fleet and the installation of charging stations for our employees.

At Steritech, our commitment extends far beyond the walls of our company. We are passionate about our territory and deeply committed to making our community a better place for all. Our actions are guided by a simple conviction: it’s our duty to act for a more united and equitable future.

Promoting inclusion and education

The future belongs to those who are ready to learn and grow. That’s why we open our doors to young people from the local mission, students from local schools and universities, and adapt our facilities for ESATs and associations such as ADAPEI. These initiatives help to build bridges between generations and give everyone a chance to succeed.

Promoting local products

We’re proud of our Alsatian roots and our country, which is why we do everything we can to support our region. As a patron of the arts, we contribute to local projects that are close to our hearts, such as La Maison de la Nature de la Bruche et du Piémont, and we support innovative initiatives such as Les Retoqués.

Supporting international solidarity causes

Our commitment doesn’t stop at Alsace. We are also involved in international projects, particularly in the fields of health and education. Whether financing initiatives in medical deserts, providing financial support for hospital rehabilitation projects in Romania, programs to help Ukrainian refugees or supporting humanitarian rallies such as the 4L Trophy, we believe that a better world is built together, wherever we are.
